The Buzz on Maggie

Apparently good animation, art direction, and characters don't mean anything to Disney. The Buzz on Maggie is no more.

Cartoons never die.....they just..faaaaaaaaaaaaade away.

So the average life-span of a real life fly is what 24 hours? And now the life-span of a cartoon one is 24 episodes? Lame.

Oh Disney! Will you ever stop messing up?

It's a shame, truly.
I loved that show.
Best of wishes.

Disney...I hate you. Walt would be giving his middle finger to the whole lot of the (in)decision makers. Maggie was one of the few original cartoons I've seen in a while. They'll probably replace it with a double dose of 10 year old Lizzie reruns.

Mickey must need to pop a dozen pills a day just to show up for work anymore...

If this is true, it really freaking sucks.

This is one of the reasons I rarely watch Disney anymore.

Yup, it's true. Sorry guys. Everyone here is really surprised and dumbfounded. Oh well, on to bigger and better things!

This is dumb... I used to love disney, but now they took off my favorite shows like this one. Disney is dumb!

Ahhh!! That really sucks, first teenage robot now Maggie. Damn!!! if anything should be cancelled it's fosters that show is pretty but damn is it boring.

i loooovvvvvveeeeeee the buzz on maggie it will stay on forever

I worked at Disney TV for 4 years, and the one thing I came away with was this: if it's unique or creative or well-done, the executives will cancel it.

;_; it was such a cute show. so bright and eye catching!
i hope you have no malice to Disney itself, but the men who run it. they completely beat Disney down!
i know its turned Cliche...but Eisner is totally not on my favorite people list. that money hungry fat cat has ruined the named Disney.
i hope you will at least have a chance to do more shows. if Maggie comes out on DVD i will be sure to pick it up...shame i won't be able to get a toy or something.

good luck

WHAT?!?!?! Are you mad?!?!?!

Apparently, though it was doing great here in the states, even beating some Nickelodeon shows occasionally, who have the number one shows right now, Maggie wasn't doing too well in England and Australia. And instead of telling is this and having us tweak the show, they just chose to save their asses and not pick it up. Which makes it more puzzling when they take shows that aren't doing well, such as American Dragon, and decide to pick them up but retool the entire show.

Meh, Disney went down the crapper years ago.

Good luck with your future projects.

I love Maggie Pesky, I have drawn over 550 variations of her, I send her at least 1 email 3 days a week at disney channel.com, I have recorded every episode and I hope for disney to bring out more new episodes, a plush Maggie Pesky, and a videogame for the PS2. If disney compleatly gives up on her, then they mediforicaly tore my heart out, set it on fire, and spit on it. I CAN'T take another heartbreak.

The Buzz on Maggie was not the first show in Disney history to have a main character as a female- remember Pepper Ann? BOTH of these shows were great shows, and both were cancelled! You can't even find Pepper Ann on Toon Disney now, what with all their Anime wanna-be shows.Even Teacher's Pet was a great show, cancelled after 2 seasons. They are now replaced by Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go, Dragon Booster, it's all a waste of ink. Disney needs to realize that if the show actually has a good idea behind it, is female centered such as TBOM, or is unique in a manner, such as TBOM being animated in Macromedia Flash, it is worth keeping. As the catch phrase says, "You'll never meet a girl like her", it's true- Disney dosen't like shows with female main characters. I say that they need to put this on DVD or AT LEAST iTunes, and see what they're profit margin is after that. So, as I will never meet another girl like her, I bid the only girl I ever knew like her, a fond farewell, and the best of luck! I will always rock out with Maggie!

The Buzz on Maggie was truly a great show that deserved more attention than it got. Older audiences seemed to like it more than the younger audiences- go figure. But Maggie Pesky was truly a female Bart Simpson- Why do I say that?
She dreams of becoming a rock star (Bart did that once), plays guitar (Something a GIRL can do better than a BOY apparently), avoids schoolwork (not typical of most girls but VERY similar to Bart Simpson),Schemes much like Bart, longs for popularity(like Bart often does), and shops and gossips with her best friend, Rayna (replace Rayna with Milhouse). Yes, Disney Had a barge sized piece of platinum (worth more than gold or silver), and they missed the oppertunity to cash in on it. So let's all applaud Disney- another swing and a miss(if you'd call what they did a swing)for the geniuses at Disney Programming HQ.

i mean some parts are funny and most people just dont like it cause its about flies but i dont luv it that much

That was an AWESOME show! Why did Disney cancel it I'll never know. Great animation, and ORIGINAL storyline and Qute for a show that was about bugs.
*sigh* it only shows it at 4 a.m in the morning now

Wow i never knew this show had so much love. When i first saw this show i thought it was stupid becosue it looked so much like a baby show with the grappics but when i watched it I totally fell in love. So i like been looking all over the internet to watch more episodes only to find out. WHAT ITS BEEN CANCELLED LIKE 1 YEAR AGO!!!! But untill now im still on constant search to find more about this show becosue by fall in love i do mean fall in love bceouse I fell in love with Maggie. Well anyways I also found out that Disney channel only alows any show to have 65 episodes no matter how populer except for some reason Kim Possible is still going for awhile but what i figured is if we really want this show to live some more and not just be trapped in the time of reruns until totally eliminated from disney is that Maggie should move out of Disney to some other channel so she'll live pass that acursed 65 episode life span. I also heard from wikipedia that Kim Possible was extended becouse her fans really wanted more or something so i bet if we can just get an army of determind fans of this show then we can bring it back to life!

I also apoligize for spelling errors and anything thats out of order for i am not a proffesional writer.

I lost my faithin disney ever since they started 'killing' Traditional animation for Full-fledged CGI movies. Don't get me wrong, they're astounding ( even if Im not fond of any 3D movies except the Incredibles and Happy Feet, the rest I loathe them), but killing 2D for that? No thank you. Then again, wasn't that partly Eisner's fault?

Either way, the management in disney still reeks... big time.

Good luck in your future projects mate :)

I loved this show on Disney Channel! I just wished you continued this cartoon to make it last up to 150 episodes, and a movie! By the way, I would like to start doing cartooning like you and the other great artists: Jorge Guiterrez, Gabe Swarr, Craig McCracken, Steve Lambey, John Kricfalusi, Dave Wasson, Chris Reccardi, and Chris Savino. I would like to work with you guys someday.

this one the best cartoon and think that buzz on maggie desearve a second season

Omigosh! How could Disney do this? They should have canceled something else. I love all the shows that got like.... 5 episodes and 1 month! Like Dave the Barvarian, lizzie mgguire, and the buzz on maggie! Poor little Maggie. You really screwed up there Disney. SHAME SHAME SHAME!

I'm very annoyed with Disney ending good shows. I really miss the Buzz on Maggie and I hope that the show will be revived even if it has to be taken to a new channel such as Cartoon Network.

When I was a little kid, Mickey Mouse used to be my favourite cartoon character; but I gave that position to Maggie Pesky when I was 9 and a half.

I live in Australia; and like Sean said, this show wasn't popular enough in my country. (P.S. Australia DOES have states; just not as many!)

Someday, I'll make cartoons where the main character is a girl, and I'm not going to let Disney ruin that opportunity.

I miss Maggie Pesky, and I'm glad I'm not the only one. She was beautiful, clever and a well-developed character, not like most of the moronic imbeciles you see on TV these days.

Well, we'll just have to remember Margaret Pesky as the most fantascious cartoon character who EVER starred in cartoons from the 2000's. But hey, if we know what makes a cartoon good or bad, maybe we should make our own cartoons someday. Doesn't that just sound fantabulous?

hey. It's been 13 years since the show is off the air. and thanks to the success of Live-action Kim Possible. I decided to have a full-fledged reunion on all the cast and crew of animators of a DCOM version of The Buzz on Maggie

Hey, I'm from Australia and this show was my favourite as a kid!

It's been almost 18 years since The Buzz on Maggie premiered. I was only a few months old at the time of it's premiere so I didn't discover the show until late 2017. I hadn't watched it for long, and quickly forgot about it sometime in 2018, then watched it once more in 2019 before forgetting about it for a long time.

In mid 2022, I was on my first ever solo trip to Minnesota to visit family. And while looking through Disney+ on my cousin's TV for what Disney Channel shows were and weren't there, a thought popped in my head:

"Hey, i just remembered that show i watched middle school! That show about the pink fly..."

I frantically searched to see if it was on Disney+ and it sadly wasn't... luckily someone had uploaded rerun footage of all the episodes to Youtube, so I decided to watch it again! I hope Disney+ streams the show in its original widescreen format soon... apparently Dave Wasson had them on his website but not anymore... Disney probably has it stored somehwere in their master system but knowing them, it'll be a long time before The Buzz on Maggie is available to stream in HD.
